Vang Vieng, Laos: Vang Vieng is an odd town, which exists entirely for tourists: there is nothing to do here except go tubing. And tubing is a term to be used loosely, because what we’re really talking about is bar-hopping by way of a tube. Because you can only bar-hop in one direction, the bars are named clever things like “First bar,” “Bar II,” “Bar III,” and “Last bar.” Also, there are big swings which allow you to gracefully descend into the water from a height*. It was fun.
